About the Artist

Welcome to my Art Nouveau Art.
Stylised floral designs in watercolour.
Beautiful :: Tasteful :: Colourful

My work is mostly stylised Art Nouveau.
It is an era which I feel a great familiarity with and passion for. I have always been drawn to the turn of the century era and not only love the art of that period but the clothes, ceramics, furniture, music etc.

As I have always loved Flowers, Watercolours and Art Nouveau, here I am combining all three to produce a unique style of contemporary art.
I am presently working from my studio in rural West Norfolk, where the light is fantastic and the views vast and stunning.

I initially trained as a Graphic Designer at Great Yarmouth College of Art & Design.
After a brief spell in the industry, I went on to work as an artist at home.
I worked and exhibited widely in the batik medium but also practised oils and watercolours.
I was a colourist of antique prints for many years and have been commissioned to do Fore-edge paintings.
I also designed for Liberty and more recently Moorcroft Pottery (as Sarah Brummell-Bailey)

Of all the mediums, I have tried and tested, I settled on watercolour for my current work.
I paint mostly floral subjects and some landscapes, all in my unique Art Nouveau style.
I have never copied this style but have found it, with ease, from within me.
Perhaps it is in my genes?

I am sure that my designs will appeal to any Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts lovers who are looking for the right kind of painting to fit in with any collection of furniture, fittings etc. from that period.
If you have a favourite plant/flower which you would like to see stylised, please contact me.
I am happy to discuss commissions.
